Summer along the creek

With a sunny morning, I took the paints, along with the .22 magnum, in case the coyote attacked the sheep, down to the bank of the creek. Two ducks flew up as I arrived and I thought about putting them into a painting. Or maybe not.

The oil is not quite dry yet; so if the ducks become part of it, it will have to be after it fully dries and they seem to be beneficial. I am thinking then it would require a splash and not sure I want to spoil the reflections.

My dissatisfaction with it relate to almost all being the same value. I tried lightening the sky but it was what it was and down there, everything is pretty much the same value. I'll think about it as it dries.

Whether it came out satisfactorily or not, it was a pleasure to have that time along the banks of the creek. That has to be one of the biggest pluses in plein air painting.
