Summer along the Creek

The lack of value difference in this painting kept bothering me. When I do a painting, my goal is that my eye will travel around it, not stay one place but move throughout, ideally coming back to where it started. With the values so similar, I think that's harder to make happen.

Today the sky was a much lighter blue and I decided to borrow that sky for my painting, changing the reflections a bit to go along with it and I am much happier with the results.
