Land of the Wind...

32" x 44" Oil

I am not sure if this painting is finished even now but when I looked at the previous views of it, I knew I hated the middle ground and nothing short of wiping it out was going to fix that. I also came to feel that the windmill was too large for the feeling I wanted to suggest with the painting.

This is a painting of a big land where wind is very important to its identity in the shapes of the hills, the storms that bring occasional rains, and the power through a windmill to bring water from underground to the surface. Maybe it's done now.

The second photo is of it before the windmill was added again. To be honest, the windmill from the standpoint of the painting might not have been needed except that it's part of the theme.
