This cabin sits on a small ranch far up the South Fork of the John Day River in a small canyon. I photographed it quite a few times and only later got the idea of doing a painting. I love cabins. And this one seems about perfect in its setting-- if a bit far from stores or anybody actually. That's okay. I would have my animals and a monthly trip to town... oh and my dish for the computer and tv!
After I had done the digital sketch, I thought it'd be interesting to try and create the feeling of rain falling. It probably needs to be enlarged it to get the effect. Painting or photographing rain is never easy for me
