Tucson Mountains
In putting together a kind of collage for another project, I realized that for years, I have not done many paintings of the desert. Oh there was the one of the petroglyphs, another of the San Rafael Valley, but not the saguaros near where I live when I am there. Mostly I photograph them and those come out so good that I don't do more with what I am seeing. That was a mistake as actually the color you feel when out there is far more impressive than what you see.
So this is a digital painting which might or might not end up an oil. It is from a gravel road out in the Tucson Mountains looking back toward Tucson which would be over that ridge if you could see over it.
