Dolphin Play

Sometimes painting is just play for me and this was such a time. The beginning doesn't always have a purpose. Here I started with a general concept and some shapes and then a 'what if' idea grew.

What if in a moment of magic, shining down from above, what if dolphins take on a different form just for a time? Are you that sure shape-shifting can't happen? Most know the legends of the selkies where the seals take off their skins and can become human for a time. Since dolphins are smarter than seals, why not them too?


Because this was digital play, I could expand what I had begun and change the emphasis from the magic to the dolphins. I have been fascinated by the possibility of shape-shifting. Perhaps most humans are hence the many myths about it.
